My students have been struggling with story problems lately. So I decided to make some math charts for addition and subtraction key words. I got the idea from Jodi at Fun in First (she has really great ideas… if you haven’t checked out her blog, you NEED to).

These are the key word math charts that help my students with story problems. These are displayed in my classroom. I love how the addition key word chart is shaped as a plus sign, and the subtraction key word chart is shaped like a minus sign. After downloading these key words, print on white card stock, arrange nicely on addition/subtraction shaped posters, and laminate. You’ll find these key words in my FREE RESOURCE LIBRARY!
